Three hours on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay will help you to determine if you want to make sailing a bigger part of your life. You will join one of Eastern Watersports certified instructors on a Hobie Wave Catamaran for our Intro to Sailing lesson. You'll learn some basic sailing concepts and get a real feel for the wind in your sails. This course will have you sailing in no time, and this course also meets our requirement for you to rent a catamaran with Eastern Watersports.

This class will teach you the essentials for sailing including:

  • Basic Terms
  • Rigging and Handling
  • Wind Dynamics
  • Performance
  • Speed Control
  • Tacking and Jibes
  • Boating Safety
  • Water Skills

Our sailing lessons start at $145 and are taught at our Sailing Lessons are held at Eastern Watersports @  Hammerman Beach, 7200 Graces Quarters Rd, Baltimore MD, 21220. Students must be at least 13 years old if they are going alone and must be at least 9 years old is they are taking the class with an adult.

We will provide you with the following equipment for the course:

  • Life Jacket
  • Safety Whistle

We ask that you bring the following items with you for your paddle board lessons:

  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Bathing Suit
  • Water
  • Water shoes or sandals REQUIRED

Our boats typically fill up quickly, so if you're thinking about getting into the sport, reserve a spot on one of the boats today!
